How to change an NFC card link without rewriting the card
Understand permanent NFC URLs, editable redirect destinations and the difference between a dynamic link and card authentication.
Store a permanent address
Writing a final website address directly onto a tag ties that tag to that address. Tapical instead uses a permanent platform URL. The redirect destination lives in your account, so updating the website does not require rewriting the NFC chip. This describes Standard NFC destination management, not cryptographic authentication.
Update the destination in My Cards
Sign in to Tapical, open My Cards, select the card group and edit its destination. Save your changes, then test the permanent link again. Cards within a group share that destination. Check which group you are editing before changing a link used by several physical products.
A practical menu example
Suppose a restaurant replaces a seasonal menu PDF with an online menu. The owner changes the destination in the Dashboard. Printed material and the NFC URL remain unchanged. Test the new page on mobile and make sure guests can open it without an unexpected account requirement. The same approach works for a portfolio or a review page.
Dynamic destination does not mean authentic card
An editable redirect answers where a visitor should go. It does not prove which physical object supplied the link. Copying a static URL can reproduce that route. Protecting account access helps prevent unauthorized destination changes, but that is a different problem from proving a card is genuine.
When authentication matters
Tapical Secure aims to add dynamic cryptographic card authentication and server-side verification. Those capabilities are still in development and are not available to purchase or use. NXP documents Secure Dynamic Messaging as one example of a technology that can supply tap-specific authentication data; this is an industry example, not a confirmed Tapical chip selection. [1]
